House SystemAt Kings International College, our House System, consisting of three Houses named Lancaster, Mercia, and Windsor, is a powerful catalyst in igniting and fulfilling the aspirations of our students. It is deeply rooted in our core values of aspiration, respect, and resilience, shaping an educational experience that goes beyond the ordinary.
During the first Induction Day, each new student is assigned to one of our three distinguished Houses: Lancaster, Mercia, or Windsor. This allocation marks the beginning of an exciting journey throughout their entire school career, where they will build a sense of belonging, forge lifelong friendships, and strive for excellence together. Belonging to a House cultivates a strong sense of identity and purpose within our students. The House tie, proudly worn by each student, represents their allegiance to their House and embodies the unique spirit and values it encompasses. Through House activities, competitions, and collaborative initiatives, students have the opportunity to showcase their talents, hone their skills, and develop a deep connection to their House community. Within the House System, we place great emphasis on fostering respect among our students. Regardless of which House they belong to, we encourage an inclusive environment where every individual is valued and appreciated. Through inter-House events, House challenges, and mentorship opportunities, students learn to embrace and celebrate the diverse strengths and qualities that each member brings, reinforcing a culture of mutual respect and understanding. Resilience is a fundamental aspect of our House System. Students engage in a range of challenges and competitions throughout the academic year, designed to push their limits and test their mettle. These experiences provide valuable opportunities for personal growth, as students learn to embrace failure as a stepping stone to success, persevere in the face of adversity, and develop the tenacity and resilience required to overcome obstacles. Furthermore, our House System serves as a platform for students to actively participate in the betterment of our school community. Through the Student Voice initiative, students have a voice in shaping the school's future and ensuring that their opinions, ideas, and concerns are heard and considered. This active involvement nurtures leadership skills, promotes civic engagement, and instills a sense of responsibility within our students. The Lancaster, Mercia, and Windsor Houses form the vibrant tapestry of our House System at Kings International College. Through their House journey, students not only acquire academic knowledge but also develop essential life skills, foster a deep sense of belonging, and form lasting connections. Our commitment to fostering aspirations, cultivating respect, and building resilience is at the heart of our House System, shaping the next generation of confident and compassionate leaders. |
