Would you like to train as a teacher?
Whether it is a career you have always wanted to pursue, or you have just begun to explore teaching as a possible next step, we would be delighted to hear from you.
School-based training gives you hands-on experience alongside academic study, enabling you to develop as a teacher whilst constantly reflecting on the process. We provide an interesting and rigorous programme of study within school, which complements your academic studies at university. You will also be mentored by an experienced member of staff.
Kings International College is a fantastic place to work and trainees are made to feel very welcome. Existing staff are keen to support and share their experience, as well as to learn from new members of the team. We pride ourselves on the support we offer to new staff joining our school. ECT’s and Trainee Teachers benefit from a comprehensive ‘Professional Studies’ programme whereby development sessions take place across the whole school year. These include training sessions led by experienced teachers from across the school, and structured opportunities to reflect upon their developing practice.
Trainees are well prepared through first-rate complementary placements which ensure that they gain substantial practical experience, developing their evaluative and practical teaching skills effectively. In-school expert mentors and external subject trainers have consistently high expectations and work collaboratively to ensure training is coherent and highly relevant to the needs of trainees. www.teachsoutheast.co.uk

At Kings International, we are pleased to offer graduates, who are interested in teaching, the opportunity to come and spend some time with us. Our programme allocates you to one or more subject departments and you will have the opportunity to shadow a range of experienced teachers. You will be able to observe lessons across the school and see the different experiences our students from Year 7 to Year 11. Most graduates have gone on to complete their PGCE or start School Direct training.
