The SEND department at Kings International is committed to supporting students with SEND ensuring they fulfil their potential. We aim to provide our students with a curriculum which is differentiated and accessible to all, regardless of ability or educational needs. We recognise that some of our students will need a little extra help during their time here and the Accelerated Learning Team helps students who have difficulties with cognition and learning, those with communication difficulties, English as an additional language, social, emotional and behaviour difficulties and those with sensory and medical difficulties.
Every teacher is considered a teacher of SEND and the school’s resources are organised to ensure that all students’ needs are met. Staff seek to actively involve students with their learning, inspiring them to become resilient and increasingly independent, with the ultimate goal being that they are confident to move on to college and eventually working life.
We actively seek to reward students for their achievements and include them in all aspects of school life; we work closely with the student, their family and outside agencies to provide the best possible holistic support.
